Moth-a-palooza!

    The last week of July provided lovely evening for checking out moths in our yard. 
We set up an old black light fixture that the boys had for Halloween years ago, and waited for the show. 
    Within minutes, the critters were arriving! First were the small fellows...mostly gnats and tiny moths. Later, about an hour after dark, the larger moths began to arrive. Here's a collection of my favorites.

Bobolink and Dragons

We spent some time today at Huffman Prairie Flying Field this morning and saw a some Bobolinks....here's a male.




Next, we stopped by George Rogers Clark Park, where we spent time shooting various dragon flies...here's a few.....

Huffman Prairie Flying Field

With a break in the rain this afternoon, David and I headed towards Fairborn to the  
Huffman Prairie Flying Field.  
We went to see the Bobolinks that we see each year there. We did see a couple, but they were pretty far out in the fields. Instead, we did see a few other beauties....
